An Applefest Poem

Our Applefest is fast approaching. All Volunteers are receiving extra coaching.

You can sense the excitement that’s in the air from all who will attend the happy affair.

Apples are being bought for the pies to be made. To anyone who is interested, we can use your aid.

The beautiful prize car proudly stands on display. In order to win, you might have to pray.

Many more prizes are awaiting a winner and you might also enjoy a tasty chicken dinner.

Fr. Harvey’s famous chili is another yearly event and to purchase this is money well spent.

Apple Pies will fill the air with a delicious aroma. These bakers certainly deserve a well-earned diploma.

We hope all will come, both young and old, to have a great time and stay in the fold.

The Apple Tree

Win big (and little) prizes while encouraging the youth of St. John at the Apple Tree. Just go on over to the Apple Tree (at the south end of the Parish grounds), and buy some Tootsie Rolls.

Then, open them up to see if you have a hidden lucky number for a corresponding prize.  Not every Tootsie has a prize, but every one will bring a smile.

The prizes change every year, but in the past people have won Flat Screen TV's, video games, Boom Boxes (that's a big radio for you iPod generation people), Stuffed Animals, Tools, Sports Equipment, Kitchen Gadgets and even (oh, lucky winner!) a comforting back scratcher.
